It is Official!

This was the interview outfit.
These two shots were taken during her open audition.
She is now a University of Louisville Ladybird! They let us know today.
It was a long and intense process, but it was all worth it.

Busy day...

Nathan during dress rehearsal.
About half of Athena's costumes, just waiting for her to get to the theatre from her Ladybird auditions....
Got home and saw the new chicken coop, complete with chickens!

Tired feet....

Athena began the audition process for the University of Louisville Ladybirds tonight.
Her poor feet ended up with ripped blisters after just three and a half hours of dancing on the gym floor.

Thursday's random set :)

They are still in the house, because the coop hasn't been finished on acount of rain.
I know it is time to cut the grass when these guys bloom. But I love them just the same. I have purple ones too, however those pictures didn't turn out as well.

New art work, I am trying to give Nathan a safe outlet for his sudden interest in tagging and using spray paint.

Wednesday's pictures

Asia had my camera all day, so I didn't get a chance to take any pictures until very late and I was too tired. Here are her most creative pictures from the day. She took them looking through the bottom of the bell and in b&w. I really like the feel they have.

Out with Mom

These beautiful glass water walls are in the James Brown Cancer Center. They were amazing to watch and to listen to. If I ever build a house I will have to seriously consider having something like this installed!
Ampersand, I thought of you and your yellow tulips when driving home through downtown, just about every corner looked like this one!

In the nick of time :)

Since I didn't pick up the camera today until I sat down to upload yesterday's pictures, I took not one single picture until just this minute (5 mintues til mindnight). In the spirit of a picture a day... here is where I am usually working. Awful shot, but it will remind me to do better!

Sunday's picture....

It was really hard getting pictures at this competition because they had lower lights than usual. The set in the white costume were the only ones to work at all.
That is Athena out front and Nathan in the middle.

While running erands....

This is a shot of the flowers outside my favorite little Value Market!

This picture was taken from the expressway around noon for an air and fireworks show that was to start around 4 or 5 pm I think and the fireworks weren't scheduled until 9:30 pm. By the time the fireworks started there was no green to be seen. I didn't go this year, but Nathan and Athena were there with other friends and family members. I just don't like crowds and this is the biggest crowd in the Kyanna area each year. Usually more than a couple million people in a two mile stretch on both sides of the river.

Still working on Moon Shots...

Except for chickens this is the best shot of the day, and it is not so hot. I am still working on getting a good moon shot though.

Seeing Oklahoma

I played around and took a lot of shots today, but this was the first. It was a quick snap at the theatre just before the play started. It is the one I liked the best for the day. All the kids laughed all the way through, but only a few admitted to liking the play afterwards :)

Wednesday'a photo

Fun with chickens!

Strange day....

Hope that Spring is finally here, for good this time!

And a candle for the family and friends
that will need our support and strength for quite a while.

Showing off his 'new background'

He doesn't show this much excitement about too much so I thought I would post it to remember :)

hands....

Sorry about the picture not working. I was working on it in Photoshop for an art project assigned by Dali, and I messed up the link.

Nathan caught this picture of Papaw and Dirk finishing up the mudding on the ceiling.

Eat Me!

It said "Eat Me" so I did. And Dirk said I could totally blame it on him because he was the one wanting ice cream while we were out running errands today :)

Out of chaos comes order.... I hope!

We decided to switch the king size bed in my room that splits into two beds, with the smaller queen sized bed in my mom and step-dad's old room that Athena now uses. That room was like an extra dementional space. We kept moving stuff out and more stuff and more stuff. We have made three trips to Good Will and probably have two or three more to make as well as many, many trips to our huge rented dumpster.

Yesterday's picture

She thinks we moved them just for her entertainment!

This is their new house, they outgrew the box in my room. They had started jumping out and running around my room! This house is three times the size of their old one, I think they double in size overnight.

Reason #10

No matter how hair-brained my ideas are,
he does whatever he can to help me make my dreams come true!

Today he and his dad are beginning to build my super-wonderful portable chicken house.

Chicks day 11

I was too tired to take pictures, but here is one Nathan took of the chicks today. I enjoy them, however, I will not be sorry when they are old enough to go outside.

The Traditional Easter Pictures...

We have taken pictures of the kids in front of the flowered crosses every year of their lives.... now I wish I put them all in the same place!

The day in pictures is on leftovers :)

Getting ready!

Athena was with her boyfriend's family all day today and so Nathan and I were left to get ready for tomorrow. He didn't want to color regular eggs "waste a-time" was his exact quote, but we got out the milk chocolate, white chocolate, dark chocolate, and the food coloring to made a dozen of these chocolate covered cheesecake eggs. Each one is about 4"x3"x3"deep. It was our first time, so there was a big learning curve! While these are not very pretty, I like them enought to keep trying this method.

Snow on the Dogwood.....

In Jesus' time, the dogwood grew

To a stately size and a lovely hue.

'Twas strong & firm it's branches interwoven

For the cross of Christ its timbers were chosen.

Seeing the distress at this use of their wood

Christ made a promise which still holds good:

"Never again shall the dogwood grow

Large enough to be used so

Slender & twisted, it shall be

With blossoms like the cross for all to see.

As blood stains the petals marked in brown

The blossom's center wears a thorny crown.

All who see it will remember me

Crucified on a cross from the dogwood tree.

Cherished and protected this tree shall be

A reminder to all of my agony."

Maundy Thursday

During the Last Supper, Jesus washed his disciples feet.

The name 'Maundy' is derived from the command or mandatum by Christ at the Last Supper, to love one another: 'And now I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.' John 15:12

The Seder Plate

I am posting because I am not sure I can get back before midnight and with the major storm blowing in I am not sure when I will be back online.

It is day 4....

they got a nice new box twice the size and new fresh cedar litter. No more carboardbox and newspaper for them! It is easy to see the changes too. The wings of the Reds and the Americanas especially are starting to look like real chickens instead of puff balls. :)

Lots of extras on Leftovers!
