While running erands....
This picture was taken from the expressway around noon for an air and fireworks show that was to start around 4 or 5 pm I think and the fireworks weren't scheduled until 9:30 pm. By the time the fireworks started there was no green to be seen. I didn't go this year, but Nathan and Athena were there with other friends and family members. I just don't like crowds and this is the biggest crowd in the Kyanna area each year. Usually more than a couple million people in a two mile stretch on both sides of the river.Friday, April 20, 2007

Out of chaos comes order.... I hope!

We decided to switch the king size bed in my room that splits into two beds, with the smaller queen sized bed in my mom and step-dad's old room that Athena now uses. That room was like an extra dementional space. We kept moving stuff out and more stuff and more stuff. We have made three trips to Good Will and probably have two or three more to make as well as many, many trips to our huge rented dumpster.Tuesday, April 10, 2007

Snow on the Dogwood.....

In Jesus' time, the dogwood grew
To a stately size and a lovely hue.
'Twas strong & firm it's branches interwoven
For the cross of Christ its timbers were chosen.
Seeing the distress at this use of their wood
Christ made a promise which still holds good:
"Never again shall the dogwood grow
Large enough to be used so
Slender & twisted, it shall be
With blossoms like the cross for all to see.
As blood stains the petals marked in brown
The blossom's center wears a thorny crown.
All who see it will remember me
Crucified on a cross from the dogwood tree.
Cherished and protected this tree shall be
A reminder to all of my agony."
