Saturday-Monday

Monday, This shot is about a week late. This is the 'new car' Nathan bought with his own money. It will be almost a year before he can drive it, but that gives him time to customize.

Sunday's drive-by. I have been trying for a while to get a picture of this barn near my house, but this is the first one that actually come out looking pretty good. Speeding by at 35 mph with no place to pull over might be the reason :)
Saturday, Just another driveway shot that I liked. The trees are changing fast. I was right the little bit of dull color was all we are going to get this year.

Tuesday thru Friday

Friday, I know this is not a very good picture, but I had to post it anyway. When I came home from taking Nathan to work, I was greeted by my pretty little girls. They make me smile everyday!
Thursday, the boys made Sweet Potato Rum Cake. They got the idea because we are studying the Rum-Slave trade and all its economic influence on pre-Revolutionary war America. Go to Musings if you want the recipe.
Wednesday, an other coming home shot. I love my driveway and yard. Although I do wish I could afford a real landscaper to help tame it just a little.
Tuesday, someone backed into our parked car while we were out on a fieldtrip. Since Dirk had just parked the car everyone was still in it and we were able to get the lady's information, but it was a wet ordeal to say the least!

Monday

Athena stopped by this afternoon to work on a theatre paper before going to a pep rally. She was showing me her new winter uniform top. The haircut is pretty new too. I can't believe how mature it makes her look.

Finishing up the week....

Saturday, another pretty tree. It is amazing what a little water and a couple cooler nights will do.
Friday, I took this at twlight. The color is not coming across very well, but it looked like it was absolutely on fire. It reminded me of the Burning Bush.
Thursday we went to the Louisville Orchestra and my guys got all dressed up, aren't they a handsome bunch!
Wednesday, more pumpkinks.

Catching up

Today, Tuesday, Rain!!! Finally a good rain. Long and soaking early in the morning.

Monday, I love introducing teens to the Uncle Remus stories. It always leads to great cultural discussions.

Sunday, I was fascinated with how this rotten spot looks like a flower.

Saturday, still playing with the gourds.

Thursday and Friday

Pretty good group shot of my 'crew'. Five are missing for various reasons. The four on the top row and the young lady in the middle have all been my students for over 5 years now.
Nathan attempting to tame Squiggy(I had misspelled the poor rooster's name). I like this picture of them both being calm since usually they are chasing each other round the yard.

And to see how we made those tasty little pumpkin pies today, check out Musings.

Gourds, make me happy....

The small color photos are the original shots. The larger black and whites are the drawings I would have made if I had time to draw. I love gourds. I don't know why, but they have always made me happy. Now, they also remind me of my art classes and spending hours upon hours drawing them in still lifes while learning how to actually use different mediums. Most of my favorite pieces from my college drawing classes are of still-lifes with gourds. I think I am going to photograph them all week.

last week's pictures

I really wanted to edit and crop, but if I waited to do that they would never get up. I really hope this week is better.
