My Big Day!!!

I got to wait for over 30 minutes in the pouring rain circling the airport arrival pick up area while waiting to.....
Pick up my baby, who could not figure out why I greeted her with a flash! Isn't she precious? :) I am so excited to have her at home for a WHOLE week!
Oh, yeah she was mad because they changed her flight and lost her luggage!

Brisk Morning....

When I went out to feed the goats, I noticed the light frost and how everything looked like it had just a touch of sugar on it. It was so light none of my pictures 'looked right'. But when I was goofy around with Angel I got this shot that I think 'captured' the morning. The long shadows, Angel's breath, and just the wisps of white and to me it almost looks like you can see the frost burning away in front of you.

Pretty January Day...

I took this when we got home from a horrible trip to Office Depot. I was in a bad mood, but my little Luna always makes me laugh!!! She saw me taking pictures (like the one below) and had to come investigate.
I was struck by the blue of the sky today.
This picture makes me long for my old camera. I wanted to keep the drift wood in focus and fuzz out the sky and my simple point and shoot won't let me! When my lens come out of the shop I may have to switch back to my old camera when feeling artistic.

In honor of Tradition!

Susan, when I went to get the lentils out of the panty, I found black eyed peas! I didn't even know we had any so I made them because we can use all the luck we can get. As you can see the pot is almost gone. The corn muffins made with coconut milk were tasty, but much denser than unsual.

This is our traditional cornbeef and cabbage! Gotta love the show Good Eats...that is where I learned if you add caraway seeds the house doesn't smell like cabbage and the cabbage tastes a bit sweeter!

Wet and rainy....

This bell is outside my kitchen door and I spent a huge chunk of my day looking out at the rain, while deep cleaning the kitchen. I love the texture and shine the rain gives the iron.

No place like home....

I was out in the holiday mess today. I didn't have to go very far, but I had to make 3 different stops. It took over 4 hours...that is what it is like to live less than two miles from a major mall and shopping district. So this picture of my driveway sums up how peaceful my house and yard are in the hubbub of the 'outside world'. At first I was worried about the blurriness, but the more I look at it the more I like it.

Still cooking.....

This is my image for today. The bright pink reminds me of all the vibrant energy I am getting from eating live food that my body can actually digest!

I included the larger shot of yogurt herb bread and beet tonic. I wish you guys could smell through the computer. My house smells amazing right now! I have spent the day cooking and doing prep work. It is still hard to get my mind around food taking 3-7 days to make. I understand why a lot better than I did. The more I work with and eat this amazing food the more I am inspired to keep learning and really get a good system of prep going so all I am doing most of the time is maintaining.
